Welcome to The Dark Petal…

my haunted little corner of the internet where horror meets heart.

Hi, I’m Christina. I’m currently working on my debut novel, a supernatural psychological horror story about validation, power, and what we’re willing to do to belong.

I write horror, but not only horror. I’m drawn to emotion, especially identity and self-worth, the quiet fear of not being enough, and the fight to believe in yourself anyway.

I also love experimenting with shorter pieces, playing with form, and following whatever idea that peaks my interest. And when I’m not writing, I’m probably reading, watching horror movies with my husband and son or in the garden.

What will you find here?

  • A monthly newsletter published on the 13th where I share updates on my novel in progress, short stories and essays, horror book and movie recommendations, honest reflections on creativity, growth, and the monsters we wrestle with in real life, plus a few fun extras tucked inside.

  • Flash Fiction and Short Stories. This is where I experiment. Where I play. Where I explore different types of characters and stories.

  • Personal essays. On identity, ambition, anxiety, life lessons, self-doubt aka the inner corners of my mind.

  • Garden diary entries (March–October). Because tending a garden has taught me a lot about growth, failure, patience, and the beauty all around us. Plus, I love it and want to share that part of my world.

  • Experimental writing, including poetry. No strict guidelines. Just whatever wants to exist.

If you’re drawn to stories that explore fear and self-worth, this little haunted corner is for you. I hope you see pieces of yourself in my writing and feel less alone in those feelings. This is where I get to be my creative self. I’m glad you’re here.
